2. Job description
A. General context of the project
General context of the project
Post Distribution Monitoring (PDM) project provides a space that UNHCR can establish and find-out if the persons of concern (PoCs) have received their entitlement of the cash payments and any in-kind distributions (NFIs) and at same time clarify how the assistance have been utilized. PDM project seeks systematic data collection, analysis and reporting of key information about beneficiaries in order to improve Humanitarian aid programs and assistance. The project will provide monitoring for the following interventions; Cash assistance, NFIs, Livelihoods, Education, Health, Shelter, and other projects of UNHCR implemented by partners. The information processed helps in reinforcing accountability on the actual use of aid resources; responding to the needs and priorities of the PoCs; and being sensitive to protection and security risks caused by both NFI distributions and Cash based Intervention
B. General purpose of the position, responsibilities and tasks
General purpose of the position
The project officer will support the project manager in implementing the post distribution monitoring exercises regarding the cash assistance distribution either done direly by UNHCR Somalia or implementing partners.
Main responsibilities and tasks
Program Planning and Management
- Participate in, and facilitate training's and meetings with project stakeholders
- Support in designing PDM surveys;
- Assist in project implementation through facilitation, coordination and supervision of all PDM data collection exercises.
- Participate in facilitating data entry and data cleaning
- Assist Project Manager to prepare responses to requests from networks, collaborators and stakeholders and donors, local authorities, and the public regarding program information;
- Manage individual exercise budgets.
Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting
- Assist in the verification of data from quarterly/monthly reporting tools (partners and direct implementation) and support its collation and analysis;
- Assist in conducting project related assessments, surveys and evaluations.
- Perform any other responsibilities as may be assigned as from time to time
3. Position requirements
Education
University level degree in social science, statistics and economics
Professional experience
Previous experience in monitoring and evaluation, data collection, data analysis and experience in cash transfer programs
Professional requirements
Good communication skills, understanding of Somali culture and dynamics, report writing and analysis.
Languages
English, Somalia language is a plus
