2. Job description
A. General context of the project
General context of the project
Contribute to a protective environment for children from unlawful recruitment and use of children by and to successfully reintegrate children and youths associated with armed forces/groups (CAAFAG) into communities in fulfilment of their fundamental rights.
B. General purpose of the position, responsibilities and tasks
General purpose of the position
The Education/Livelihood officer Works under the supervision and managing the CAAC reintegration project with education in emergency and protection components. The position is principally responsible to support the implementation of the project, supervision of the activities and the staff on the field and development of community based methodologies and Code of Conduct, CP mainstreaming
Main responsibilities and tasks
• Supervision and follow up of project activities in the project sites such as schools, vocational centers and others.
• Participation in research work and base line data collection.
• School visits and supervision.
• Formation and training of CECs and Children’s clubs.
• Responsible for proving adequate information and report on the project to include a dis-aggregated data, reporting of abuses.
• At the district level the project officers will liaise with the other projects.
• The project officers will be responsible for working directly with the community, local authorities and the beneficiaries.
• With support from the PM and the field coordinator the project officer will make weekly and monthly activity work plans.
• The project officer will link with community mobilizers and life skill trainers to ensure community and child participation in implementation by documenting feedback on implementation.
• The project officers will and must be willing to work hand in hand with other sectors within INTERSOS and other partners in their areas of operations.
• Adhere to INTERSOS child protection and PSEA policies
3. Position requirements
Education
Diploma or Certificate in Education or related technical field. One (1) year progressively responsible professional experience in monitoring and evaluation in related field preferably in NGO.
Professional experience
· Previous experience in the humanitarian field in an emergency context working for an NGO, preferably in the protection sector in Somalia (Child protection and/or GBV);
Professional requirements
· Experience in working with vulnerable community members especially children and women.
· Good analytical and report writing skills is desirable
Languages
· Fluency in written and spoken English and Somali (Maay-Maay) is essential;
