Objective of the position
In support of the integration process of its beneficiaries, INTERSOS Hellas will launch a 3-month program, starting in October 2019 until December 2019. This program is a job consultation project located in Thessaloniki and Ioannina through which the PoCs will receive all the information and necessary resources regarding pre-employment preparation and will familiarize with the Greek labor market to begin their professional journey in Greece being self-sufficient with a solid base to further prosper.
Through the course of the project, beneficiaries will obtain all the tools and resources needed for setting specific work goals, targeting professional occupations of personal interest and matching them according to their profile. Through their personal effort they will acquire independence and self-determination to look for an ideal professional occupation.
In particular, INTERSOS Hellas, Employability Counselors will:
Advise and support on employment-related legal issues
Record soft skills and guide the beneficiaries regarding the possibilities of vocational trainings in the public sector (eg. OAED programs, programs of INE/GSEE), as well as other tools available (eg. “vouchers” for employability, internships etc.), based on the needs and aspirations of each beneficiary
Provision of guidance services and ensure access to basic vocational training opportunities directed from the very beginning with specific job matching and job creation opportunities
Manage a diverse portfolio of cases to employment, providing a professional employability, job matching and career management service
Provide information, advice and guidance to the POCs on key knowledge areas including; drafting or improving CVs, Job opportunities, interview skills and preparation
Searching, Interview Skills coaching and Training/Education, to enhance current and future employment
Provide guidance services to the beneficiaries on how to have access to labour market opportunities of employability. Group Workshops targeted to specific skills development
Analyze and understand current employment and related opportunities
Maintain a Management system, case notes and other electronic files and records to a high standard to ensure is documented in accordance with quality standards
Provide professional ethics guidance and resume preparation of seminars
Past Experience and Skills Required
At least 1 year experience in job counseling
Past experience with vulnerable population or in the refugee context will be considered an asset
Degree in Finance, Humanitarian, Legal studies required or other relevant degree
Excellent communication skills
Very good knowledge of the labour market
Good knowledge of labour law
Native Greek speaker, fluent in English both written and verbal
