General-purpose of the position
Under the guidance of the Livelihood Project Manager, role-holder will provide overall supervision of project implementation using participatory approaches throughout the project cycle. The role will support in identification of beneficiaries, awareness-raising and sensitization, implementation of livelihood stabilization project activities, Pre and Post Activities Monitoring (PDM)) as well as monitoring and evaluation.
Tasks and Main Responsibilities
· Oversees the distribution of cases among the caseworkers by the Case Worker Team Leader, ensuring that team and individual caseloads are reflective of INTERSOS guidelines and SOPs;
· Under the direct supervision of the Livelihood Project Manager and in link Head of Base, s/he provides overall managerial oversight to Livelihood Stabilization Project and support team in project implementation.
· Direct management of Livelihood Stabilization project staff including the recording of attendance, leaves, other matters in close coordination with PM and Administration department.
· Supervises all the Livelihood Stabilization project activities and manage projects implementation as per work plan and in close coordination with protection, Head of Field Office, Logistic and warehouse staff.
· Liaises and collaborates with relevant local authorities, donors’ program staff in the field and other key stakeholders for a coordinated implementation of project activities;
· Mainly responsible as a focal person to work with SEMA and NEMA and local government authorities within the project implementation area.
· Ensures that there is direct contact at all times with beneficiaries, target groups and representatives of local authorities conducted in a sensitive and respectful manner.
· In collaboration with the Administrative and the Logistics team plans and monitors project budget and expenditures and ensure utilization as per Project Implementation Plan (PIP) in line with the project’s implementation needs;
· Provides Livelihood field activities reports, Project Appraisal Tool (PAT) inputs & other reports to the Livelihood Project Manager as required;
· Provides regular progress reports to the Livelihood Project Manager for submission to donor.
· Provides technical direction for the livelihood stabilization project activities and ensure high technical quality of project while ensuring protection mainstreaming;
· Puts in place and follow up accountability and beneficiaries feedback mechanism and ensure adherence to INTERSOS policies, guidance and procedures at field level.
· Supports Livelihood Project Manager to explore livelihood stabilization project expansion and fundraising.
· Performs any other duties as requested by the supervisor.
Position Requirements
Professional requirements
· University Degree in Business Studies, Humanitarian, Agricultural Science, Engineering, or International development and Social Science.
· Minimum 3-5 years of experience in project implementation in humanitarian/early recovery context;
· Experience of working in complex and volatile contexts or tensed context in terms of security.
· Technical Livelihood expertise (Natural Resources Management, Cash/Food for Work/Asset creation program Business Management etc).
Personal requirements
· Advanced computer literacy (Microsoft Office Suite, e-mail, internet, etc…);
· Good command of written and spoken English, Kanuri and/or Hausa Languages.
· Experience in leadership and problem solving and strong negotiation skills.
· Fluency in English, both written and oral including local language is an added advantage;
· Capacity to adapt to basic living conditions, patience;
· Ability to cope up with pressure from government agencies and to deliver high-quality work within tight deadlines
