About INTERSOS
INTERSOS is a humanitarian organization on the front-line of emergencies, bringing assistance to victims of armed conflicts, natural disasters, and extreme exclusion with particular attention to the protection of the most vulnerable people.
Since 1992 our humanitarian workers have been helping people affected by humanitarian crises: we provide first aid, food, shelter, medical assistance, and basic goods. We ensure that basic needs, such as education, access to clean water, and health assistance, are met.
Background
INTERSOS has decided to improve and evaluate the current implementation of the software for the accounting system, so it is looking for an expert to support it in this activity.
The current accounting system has a custom client-server architecture and consists of an instance for each country in which INTERSOS operates (peripheral system installed on the user PC) and an aggregate and consolidated instance (central system installed on a dedicated server).
The accounting system implemented in each country is autonomous and periodically shares the databases with the central system. The central system can in turn send the modified databases back to the peripheral systems. The communication between the peripheral and central systems is therefore asynchronous.
The accounting system is based on project-based and multi-currency accounting based on a single chart of accounts. The entries and exits are entered manually by the operators and it is possible to use excel files to import them massively.
This accounting system has been developed over the years on the specific requests of INTERSOS.
The main features are the following:
- Personnel registry
- Payslip for National Staff
- Data of suppliers
