INTERSOS is a non-profit humanitarian aid organization that works to bring assistance to people affected by natural disasters and conflicts. Established in 1992 with support from the Italian Federation of Trade Unions, its actions are based on the values of solidarity, justice, human dignity, equal rights and opportunities for all people and respect for diversity and coexistence, paying particular attention to the most vulnerable and the unprotected. In Somalia INTERSOS is active since 1992 responding to emergencies that involve IDPs and returnees populations as well as the host community. INTERSOS currently operates in Bay, Banadir, Middle Shabelle and Mudug regions of Somalia.
Position overview:
Pursuant to this Agreement, the consultant will provide the following legal services to the Client:
Revise and craft human resources policies manual for Somalia as qualified and defined in article 2 herein below

Main responsibilities:
· Receive instructions to review the Human Resources Policies of the Client herein
· Research and outline the best Human Resources Practice
· Research on the Labour Laws as applicable to the practice of Human Resources in Somalia
· Outline a table of contents of the Human Resources policies Manual
· Propose policies and Populate the Human Resources Manual with content as relevant
· Review the contents of the manual and avail a soft copy of the draft to Intersos
· Discuss the regulation proposed and adjust accordingly the inputs
· Revise the different versions of the drafts updating it with the comments in order to propose a final document
· Prepare the Human Resource Policies manual and hand over to INTERSOS for the final approval and legalize the document
Qualifications and Requirements:**
· Expert in HR Related Issues in Somalia.
· Person with good understanding of the HR practice in Somalia with particular expertise in NGO
· Certified lawyer. Experience of 5 years and above is an asset.
