Job title: Medical Team Leader
Location: Thessaloniki - Greece
Reporting to: Hierarchically accountable to the Head of Mission (HoM) and functionally accountable to the Project Manager (PM)
Starting date: as soon as possible

2. Objective of the post:
The Medical Team Leader is responsible to plan, design and coordinate the implementation of the overall medical content, strategies, activities and resources in the mission; in order to facilitate the delivery of quality medical care for patients and their communities, as well as, to improve population health condition, its humanitarian living conditions and disease prevention, in accordance with general objectives and resources set by INTERSOS PM and Head of Mission. Guarantee the appropriate implementation and management of medical aspects of INTERSOS project, ensuring the achievement of the objective set. This will be done in close collaboration with the Head of Mission, the PM and other local authorities.
3. Tasks and responsibilities
· Responsible for the medical quality care.
· Collaborate with the project management team in defining strategies and priorities of the intervention.
· Represent INTERSOS in official meetings with third parties, such us local medical authorities, local and international NGOs, donors, in agreement and collaboration with the Project Manager.
· Ensures that the pharmacy management tools and procedures are in place. Participates in the preparation of the medical orders (medicines or medical equipment), in collaboration with the PM and Logistics Department.
4. Required profile/experience
Essential
· Medical degree (epidemiologist or infectious diseases specialist or pediatric specialist or gynecologist).
· At least 2 years working experience as a Medical Doctor.
· Computer skills at user level (Word, Excel).
· Good command of Greek and English, both written and verbal; Italian is an asset.
· Ability to act as part of a multi-cultural and multidisciplinary team.
Desirable
· Working experience in humanitarian contexts is an asset.
· Knowledge of Arabic.
· Capacity to work and to adapt to basic living conditions.
· Knowledge of the context a plus.
