In Somalia INTERSOS is active since 1992 responding to emergencies that involve IDPs and returnees populations as well as the host community. INTERSOS currently operates in Banadir, Bay, and Middle Shabelle and Mudug regions of Somalia.
Position overview:
The National Child Protection Data Management Officer works under the supervision and managing the IDTR/Child Protection project components. The position is principally responsible to support substantially in terms of technical expertise to operate the IDTR Task Force in terms of capacity support for developing the SOPs and ISPs, BID panel establishment and using the CPIMS. And also, manage the CPIMS data base and kept the Unaccompanied & Separated children data updated, generate the reports in different forms and share data to partners according to the protocol. The CPIMs officer assumes the responsibilities given under the purpose and undertakes her regular tasks in accordance with a well-defined framework of policies and procedures under immediate supervision.
Dimensions of Role:
• Undertake the documentation and data management for Unaccompanied and Separated Children as per the CPIMS procedure and standards;
• Work with the IDTR Task Force in terms of capacity support for developing the SOPs, ISPs BID panel establishment and using the CPIMS;
• Enhance smooth processing and production of Unaccompanied and Separated children information as need;
• Keep the confidentiality of any information of Unaccompanied and Separated children registered in line with information management principles.
TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES
• Prepare information to the request from any partner working on IDTR for referral and BID panel as needed;
• Manage the use, maintenance and technical support of databases (child protection information management- CPIMS) used in the operation including planning and overseeing data collection, input and verifications; production of standard and ad hoc reports.
• Analyze and respond to report requests from partners and donors;
• Facilitate and /or undertake additional data collection activities including planning and coordinating data collection methodologies and analysis with relevant staff of field offices;
• Provide training, as necessary, to other staff members and IPs in relevant aspects of data management
• Archive and backup database systems; ensure security of databases; perform database administrator functions.
• Assist in compiling and calculating statistics, population figures, indicators, and other standard, annual, periodic and special statistical reports.
• Generate different monitoring format from the data system;
• Check if all Unaccompanied and Separated children profiles are synchronised from location specific/client CPIMS in a regular basis;
• Review the quality of the data on the baseline and end line surveys;
• Follow up and Update all Unaccompanied & Separated Children information relevant case status and produced output information using CPIMS Profile page;
• Support/manage the data team M&E/CP officers to make sure all accurate data is captured;
• Operation and provide the reports in various formats such as Word, PDF, EXCEL, as per the requirements of the operation;
• To perform other duties as required by his/her supervisor.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Education/Qualifications: Degree/Diploma in information Communication Technology, Information management, Social Science, Data Management or related fields.
Experience: Minimum of two years for degree and four years for Diploma of experience in data management.
Skills Specific to the Post:
• Secretarial skills, excellent computer operation skills
• Easily understand MS office excel and MS office access software intended for Child protection Information System (CPiMs)
Dealing with problems/risks in the position
• Mange inconsistency of information such as age discrepancy, gender, grade and other profiles of the child
• Quality of the data produced by the case workers is screened
• Work under stressful situation

• Work closely with children, Field coordinators, M&E and CPiE officers in strategic areas of importance
