2. General context of the project
The project is a multi-sectoral integrated nutrition/WASH/livelihood project which takes place in 3 districts in Herat Province. The project is to be implemented in consortium with GVC which will be responsible for the livelihood component. INTERSOS is the leader of the consortium and is responsible for the implementation of the nutrition and WASH components.
The project aims at delivering IMAM and CMAM services in the target locations and to support a local partner in fulfilling the national protocols for Nutrition. Trainings and sensitization activities are included.
3. Tasks and responsibilities
The Project Manager of the Italian Cooperation funded project will be based in Herat town and will responsible to coordinate from remote the proper and smooth implementation of the activities to be carried out in 3 districts in Herat Province by the technical national staff. In the framework of the mentioned project the Project Manager will maintain a coordination role. S/he will be responsible to maintain the relations with the Italian Cooperation, both at Herat and at Kabul level and for proper and smooth reporting. S/he will be also responsible to maintain relations with all the relevant stakeholders at Herat and Kabul level.
4. Required profile/experience
· Relevant degree on humanitarian studies or equivalent experience;
· Previous coordination experience of nutrition and health programs;
· At least 3 years in similar positions;
· Managerial skills;
· Knowledge of Italian Cooperation donor a plus
· Ability to take initiative and work autonomously;
· Excellent oral and written communication skills;
· Fluent English written and spoken; Italian language a plus
· Capacity to work in volatile security environment and to adapt to basic living conditions;
· Knowledge of the context a plus.
